On the obverse there is right-facing Liberty wears a soft cap, rather than a pilleus or Liberty cap. Around Liberty’s portrait, inside a dentilled rim, are six-point stars to the left and right, the word LIBERTY at the top, and the date at the bottom. The reverse displays an eagle with outstretched wings in the center, a Union shield across its body, holding a loop of a banner on which is E PLURIBUS UNUM. The banner is in front of the eagle’s right wing and behind the left. The eagle holds an olive branch in its left claw and a cluster of arrows in its right claw.
