The obverse depicts a large head of Liberty facing left with a wide coronet inscribed with the word LIBERTY, her hair is pulled back in a bun and put in place by string a pearls. Thirteen six-point stars are all around the head where each one represents one of the original colonies and the date of mint is below. The reverse depicts an eagle the same eagle in ever quarter eagle since 1808.
